Advisory Board Named for SC Center for the Book

The SC Center for the Book has named a new Advisory Board comprised of authors and literary enthusiasts from across the state. The sixteen members represent a variety of organizations and communities and include:

Pat Feehan, School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina

Helen Fellers, SC Center for Children’s Books and Literacy

Sara June Goldstein, South Carolina Arts Commission

Joyce Hansen, South Carolina author

Wanda Jewell, Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance

Paula Millen, South Carolina Book Festival

Terry Pound, ETV

Elizabeth Qunell, School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina

Anne Schneider, Friends of South Carolina Libraries

Ellen Schuler, SC Center for Children’s Books and Literacy

Betsy Teter, Hub City Writers Project

Ida Thompson, South Carolina Association of School Librarians

B.J. Welborn, South Carolina author

Marjory Wentworth, South Carolina Poet Laureate

Diane Willis, State Department of Education, Early Childhood Education

State Library Staff

Dr. Curtis R. Rogers, Interim Director

Jane Connor, Children’s/Youth Services Consultant

Theresa Wallace, Literary Arts Partnership Coordinator

The members of the Advisory Board have committed to a two year appointment to serve as a creative forum generating new programming and events for the SC Center for the Book. They will hold their first planning meeting on Tuesday, August 8th at the SC Center for the Book in Columbia.
