Pirates Don't Change Diapers 

     Pirates Don’t Change Diapers, written by Melinda Long and illustrated by David Shannon, has been selected as the featured book for the SC Center for the Book Pavilion at the 2007 National Book Festival.  

The 2007 National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 7th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.  (www.loc.gov/bookfest/)

Melinda Long is a teacher and the author of the award-winning bestseller How I Became a Pirate. She lives in Greenville, South Carolina.  David Shannon is the illustrator of many successful picture books, including How I Became a Pirate. His numerous awards include a Caldecott Honor for No, David! He lives in Burbank, California.
